Arjun Bhargava

Senior Project Officer, IGCS

Arjun is a senior project officer with IGCS. He researches the impacts of sea-level rise on infrastructure in Chennai, studies climate resilient development in peri-urban areas and the role of traditional water tanks during and after floods. Arjun serves on the Editorial Board of wH2O: The Journal of Gender and Water. Most recently, as an associate project director with Hindu American Seva Communities in the United States, he advanced energy and health initiatives for the Dharmic community, and promoted Dharmic views within the U.S. government and at the White House. He has interned with the United Nations Environment Programme and the UN Global Compact, and worked as an environmental, social and governance research analyst. Arjun graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a Master of Environmental Studies, where he majored in Environmental Policy. In April 2013, he was awarded University of Pennsylvania’s Institute for Environmental Studies Award for Excellence in Environmental Studies.
