Senior Project Officer, IGCS
Akshaya is Project Associate at IGCS and is engaged in analysing data from household surveys conducted at Sriperumbudur. She previously worked at the Department of Management Studies, IIT Madras. She worked on a systematic multi-country review to understand the extent to which people have access to water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) facilities through the course of their life. Prior to this project, she worked at the Centre for Technology and Policy, IIT Madras, on a low-cost housing project which studied the transformation of government provided infrastructure (electricity, water, solid waste and sanitation) in a slum resettlement colony in Chennai. Her research interests include – sustainable WASH, urban resilience and climate change adaptation. Akshaya has a BA in Economics and an MSc in Environmental Policy and Management from the University of Bristol, U.K.
